This was one of the easier models in Ekaterina's new book "Kusudama Origami". I wanted to show the transition from raw materials to finished product. I used a black kozo paper I picked up from Hollander's in Ann Arbor. I love this paper it folds crisply with nice clean lines. It also is very paintable, with minimal rippling. I used a metallic gold paint to really contrast the sparkly black. This model is made with 30 units with 2:3 proportions. I cut each piece 3 x 4.5 inch. The finished model is about 7 inches tall. No glue was needed to hold this together.
